DampPrime is a cement-infused primer that locks out rising damp and hardens into a waterproof barrier. Ideal for moist plaster below DPC or spot-priming damp patches before repainting. Apply with brush or mohair roller.
Description
DampPrime is a powerful waterproofing primer designed to protect your walls from the inside out. Formulated with cement and moisture-reactive ingredients, it transforms damp-prone plaster into a hardened, watertight barrier—stopping rising damp in its tracks.
Its exceptional adhesion ensures that moisture is held back at the surface, while active compounds absorb residual damp and reinforce the wall’s integrity. Whether you’re treating plaster below the damp-proof course (DPC) or spot-priming exposed patches before repainting, DampPrime delivers lasting protection and peace of mind.
Where to use it:
• Moist plaster below DPC
• Damp patches before repainting
• Interior and exterior walls needing waterproof priming
Surface Preparation & Application:
• Strip old paint to bare plaster
• Remove loose or friable material
• Treat algae with Paintcor Ushevu, allow to dry, then dry brush
• Apply first coat of DampPrime diluted 10% with mineral turpentine
• Allow 24 hours to dry
• Fill cracks with Paintcor Flash Patch Exterior, smooth before drying
• Apply second undiluted coat of DampPrime
• Allow 24 hours to dry before overcoating with Paintcor wall paints
• If using enamel topcoat, first prime with PlasterPrime or AcrylUnder
Application Equipment:
• Brush or mohair roller
Cleanup & Storage:
• Clean tools with mineral turpentine immediately after use
• Store in cool, dry conditions away from children and open flame (flammable)
