Non-yellowing, odourless, and non-toxic, Satintex is safe for homes, schools, and community buildings. It’s water- and alkali-resistant, and can be tinted in a wide range of colours to suit any mood or setting. Satintex can be applied directly to good-quality, cured plaster as a primer or used as a textured basecoat beneath a final finish.
Where to use it:
• Interior and exterior walls
• Surfaces with plaster imperfections
• Hairline crack coverage
• Feature walls needing texture and depth
Surface Preparation & Application:
• New Plaster:
• Remove loose material.
• Apply directly to sound, cured plaster.
• For friable plaster, seal with AcrySeal (1:1 water), allow to dry.
• Apply 1–2 coats of Satintex by brush or roller.
• Previously Painted Plaster:
• Test adhesion (cross hatch method).
• If poor: strip old paint, wash chalking surfaces, seal with AcrySeal, allow to dry.
• Apply 1–2 coats of Satintex.
• If good: clean walls, allow to dry, apply Satintex.
Application Tips:
• Use brush or sheepskin/synthetic roller.
• Work quickly, maintain a wet edge, and move corner to corner.
• Use scaffolding for double-story walls with two applicators meeting wet edges.
• Avoid direct sunlight or temperatures above 30°C.
• Professional painters recommended for best texture results.
Cleanup & Storage:
• Clean tools with water immediately after use.
• Store in cool, dry conditions away from children.
