Paintcor Solvent Base Trade Plaster Primer

Description

PlasterPrime Trade is a high-performance primer designed to give new plaster surfaces the strength and resilience they deserve. Formulated with fine particle styrene acrylic, it delivers exceptional adhesion, water resistance, and alkali protection—creating a reliable foundation for your topcoats.
This solvent-based primer is especially suited for new cement or gypsum plaster, and is recommended after damp-proofing treatments such as Paintcor’s KlinkaSeal. Its smooth, white finish ensures excellent opacity and eliminates the need for undercoats on sound, even-textured plaster. In coastal weather conditions, PlasterPrime Trade provides the extra assurance that your walls will stand firm against moisture and salt-laden air.
Where to use it:
• New cement plaster
• New gypsum plaster (RhinoLite)
• After damp-proofing with KlinkaSeal
Surface Preparation & Application:
For Gypsum Plaster:
• Ensure surface is dry, hard, and chalk-free
• If chalky, use RhinoSeal instead
• Wipe clean and apply one coat of PlasterPrime Trade
• Allow 1 hour to dry at 25°C
• Apply two topcoats of your choice
For Cement Plaster:
• Ensure surface is dry and sound
• If friable, use AcrySeal instead
• Apply one coat of PlasterPrime Trade
• Allow 1 hour to dry at 25°C
• If texture variances appear, apply AcrylUnder or SubTex undercoat
• Finish with two topcoats
Important Note:
Not suitable for poor-quality plaster. Consult Paintcor Technical for RhinoSeal (gypsum) or AcrySeal (masonry) alternatives.
Application Equipment:
• Brush, mohair/sheepskin roller, or spray
Cleanup & Storage:
• Clean tools with mineral turpentine immediately after use
• Store in cool, dry conditions away from children and open flame (flammable)
