Paintcor AcryLatex
AcryLatex is a modified acrylic latex additive for cement, designed to waterproof, damp-proof, and strengthen plaster, screeds, and concrete. It improves flexibility, adhesion, and durability, making it ideal for repairs, thin plaster films, fishponds, and below-DPC applications where rising damp must be stopped.
Description
AcryLatex is more than an additive—it’s the key to stronger, longer-lasting cement work. Specially formulated as a modified acrylic latex, it replaces water in sand and cement mixtures to deliver waterproofing, damp proofing, and enhanced flexibility. By improving adhesion and durability, AcryLatex transforms ordinary plaster, screeds, and concrete into resilient surfaces that stand the test of time.
Whether you’re repairing damaged floors, patching walls, feather-edging thin plaster films, or constructing fishponds, AcryLatex ensures your work is water-resistant, tough, and dependable. It’s particularly effective below the damp proof course, stopping rising damp in plaster and protecting your structures from moisture damage.
Key Features:
• Imparts water resistance to cement mixtures
• Improves flexibility, adhesion, and durability
• Allows patching at depths of 1mm and greater
• Strengthens cement, reduces dusting, and resists certain chemicals
• Ideal for waterproofing, damp proofing, and patching repairs
Where to use it:
• Damp proofing plaster below DPC
• Waterproofing mortars and screeds
• Repairing cementitious surfaces, floors, and walls
• Fishpond construction and thin plaster films
Mixing Guidelines:
• Replace gauging water partly or fully with AcryLatex
• Typical dosage: 9–18L per 50kg cement (higher for thin screeds or hydrostatic pressure)
• Mix with Portland cement to form slurry for priming/sealing
• Apply tack coats and waterproof plaster formulations as specified
Surface Preparation & Application:
• Remove friable plaster or damaged concrete back to sound substrate
• Seal exposed brick or floors with PlasterBond or RhinoSeal
• Prime with AcryLatex slurry (cement + AcryLatex, brushed vertically then horizontally)
• Apply mortars or screeds while tack coat is still sticky
• Restrict waterproof plaster coats to ≤10mm thickness, applying multiple coats if needed
Formulations:
• Waterproof plaster: 150kg sand, 50kg cement, 15L AcryLatex
• General-purpose plaster/screeds: 150kg sand, 50kg cement, 10L AcryLatex
• Heavy-duty flooring: 150kg sand, 150kg granite, 100kg cement, 20L AcryLatex
Application Equipment:
Block brush
Cleanup & Storage:
• Clean tools with water immediately after use
• Store in cool, dry conditions away from children
AcryLatex isn’t just a product—it’s a promise of durability, flexibility, and protection, ensuring every repair or construction project is built to last.
