Description

AllPrime Plus is a trusted first line of defense for metal surfaces exposed to harsh environments. Formulated as a solvent-based, single-pack acid etch primer, it bonds firmly to mild steel, galvanised iron, aluminium, copper, and brass—creating a resilient foundation that resists corrosion and weathering.
Its poly vinyl butyral base incorporates anti-corrosive pigments, ensuring structural steel and galvanised iron are protected against rust while maintaining excellent adhesion. Quick-drying to a hard finish, AllPrime Plus is specially designed for coastal conditions where salt and moisture demand uncompromising performance. Available in black, and in yellow on request, it provides versatility for different applications.
Where to use it:
• Mild steel (ideal for coastal regions)
• Galvanised iron
• Aluminium, copper, and brass
• Structural steel requiring anti-corrosion priming
Surface Preparation & Application:
• New Mild Steel: Degrease with GrimeReaper, sand/shot blast to bright metal, apply 2 thin coats (1 for highveld).
• New Galvanised Iron: Degrease, remove rust (white rust with vinegar wash), apply 1 thin coat.
• New Aluminium, Copper, Brass: Sand lightly, wipe with Etching Thinners, apply 1 thin coat.
• Previously Painted Steel/Iron: Remove loose paint, sand exposed metal to bright finish, prime only bare areas with 1 coat.
Important Note:
Do not apply thick coats—AllPrime Plus is a wash primer and should not obliterate the surface. Not suitable for overcoating with nitro cellulose-based products.
Application Equipment:
Brush, mohair/sponge roller, spray, or dipping (see technical sheet for dilution ratios).
Cleanup & Storage:
Clean tools with Paintcor Etching Thinners immediately after use. Store in cool, dry conditions away from children. Highly flammable—keep away from open flame and ensure good ventilation during application.
